Tsunan Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tsunan Town, Nakauonuma District, Niigata Prefecture; President: Kengo Suzuki; hereinafter “Tsunan Sake Brewery”) is pleased to announce that its ginjo sake “Tsunan Ai” has received the Excellence Award in the Ginjo Category at the FY2025 Kanto-Shinetsu Regional Taxation Bureau Sake Awards.
The Kanto-Shinetsu Regional Taxation Bureau Sake Awards is a long-established annual competition held to promote quality improvement and technological advancement among sake producers in the region. Entries are evaluated through a rigorous, multi-faceted judging process that examines raw material handling, koji making, fermentation management, and overall balance of aroma and flavor.
This award recognizes Tsunan Sake Brewery’s long-standing dedication to sake brewing that fully draws out the characteristics of pristine natural water from the snowy Tsunan region, carefully selected sake rice, and meticulously designed brewing methods. It also reflects the high level of craftsmanship and sensitivity demonstrated by each member of the brewery team. The recognition represents a tangible outcome of Tsunan Sake Brewery’s continuous efforts to refine its brewing techniques and contribute to the advancement of the sake industry.

Award-Winning Sake: “Tsunan Ai”
“Tsunan Ai,” which received the Excellence Award in the Ginjo Category at the FY2025 Kanto-Shinetsu Regional Taxation Bureau Sake Awards, is a ginjo sake that has earned high acclaim within Niigata Prefecture for its refined aroma and elegant, well-balanced profile.

Located in one of Japan’s heaviest snowfall regions, Tsunan Sake Brewery operates in Tsunan Town, Niigata Prefecture, using natural spring water sourced from mountainous areas rising to over 2,000 meters above sea level.
